LATHELIGHT LTD > about ACCELERA DECK (1996-2006)

Please see: SEAWALKER, and (the) DEAD SEA FLOWERS for current music.

HISTORY:
Accelera Deck was the main solo project of Chris Jeely from 1996 till 2006. Formed in response to the demise (due to a fire at the bands rehearsal space and loss of all gear) of his noise rock band The Ashley Tremolo. Over the course of ten years Accelera Deck released 9 full-length albums, 12 ep's and singles, and 7 CDR releases. Some material still remains in print, with other material issued digitally, or archived for free download. Jeely aims to eventually make the entire catalog available digitally.

The Accelera Deck sound was hard to pin down, but there were several distinct phases. The first phase which lasted (approximately) from 1996 till 2001 was marked by drifting ambient guitar drones with a variety of beats ranging from mechanical IDM, to hip hop, to drum and bass. In 2001 Jeely did a seeming about face on electronic music and released a very raw acoustic album called "Shadow Land" on his newly formed Scarcelight label. This recording is a document of Jeely's descent into alcoholism. Jeely eventually sobered up and after a small hiatus returned with what can be called phase two which lasted from 2002 till 2005 and was characterized by dense noise based guitar ambience. Jeely also began playing and touring with some regularity playing most major cities in the Eastern United States. Phase three began and ended in 2006 as guitar based rock and sound-scapes.

Jeely is no longer actively using the Accelera Deck name for recordings and has turned over maintaining this page to me. New material was / is (?) appearing under the name SEAWALKER, and (the) DEAD SEA FLOWERS.

As stated in liner notes to every Accelera Deck release, . . . . . . thank you to those who are listening
